U.S. Stocks – Individual Account Opening Guide

This guide walks you through how to open a U.S. stock trading account in the BIT App. Please prepare the required documents in advance and follow the on-screen instructions step by step.

Step 1: Start the Account Opening Process

There are two ways to start the account opening process in the App.

Method 1: Via Personal Center

  1. Open the app homepage

  2. Tap the avatar in the top-left corner

  3. Tap the Identity Verification

  4. Select KYC for Stock Trading

Method 2: Via Portfolio Page

  1. Tap “Portfolio” at the bottom


  2. Tap “Submit your account application in about 3 minutes”

Select “U.S. Stock Trading – Individual” to proceed with the KYC process.

Step 2: Select Account Type

Please select “Individual Account”.

Please prepare the following documents:

  • Valid ID (e.g. ID card or passport)

  • Proof of residential address (issued within the last 6 months)

Notes:

  • Existing users should ensure their documents are valid and up to date

  • Proof of address must be issued within the last 6 months

Step 3: Identity Verification (Existing Users Sync / New Users Fill In)

Existing Users

If you have previously completed KYC, you may be prompted to authorize data synchronization.

Please review the following:

  • Whether your identification document is still valid

  • Whether your proof of address was issued within 6 months

  • Whether your KYC information is up to date

If any information has changed, select “Update Information” to resubmit.

New Users

First-time users are required to complete the KYC information.

Please ensure:

  • All information matches your identification document exactly

  • Your address matches the proof of address provided

Incomplete or inaccurate information may result in delays or rejection of the application.

New users need to upload identification documents.

When uploading documents, ensure:

Requirements:

✔ Upload a photo of the original physical document

✔ All four corners are visible

✔ Clear image without glare

Not acceptable:

✘ Cropped images

✘ Blurry photos

✘ Photos with strong glare

Photo Tips:

  • Use natural lighting

  • Avoid direct strong light

  • Keep your device steady

  • Ensure all text is clearly readable

After document verification, facial recognition may be required.

Please ensure:

  • Sufficient lighting

  • No obstruction on the face

  • Remain still during the process

Facial recognition is typically completed in one attempt, but may vary depending on conditions.

Step 4: Provide Residential Address & Upload Documents

When entering your address, please note:

Address Requirements:

  • The address matches your proof of address exactly

  • The address is provided in standard English format

Proof of Address Requirements:

  • Must be issued within 6 months

Common documents include:

  • Bank statement

  • Utility bill

  • Credit card statement

  • Government-issued document

Documents must include:

  • Applicant’s name

  • Residential address

Step 5: Financial & Trading Information

This section is used for risk assessment and regulatory purposes. Please ensure all information provided is accurate and complete.

Purpose of account:

Default: Trading U.S. securities

Monthly trading estimate:

  • Estimated monthly trading amount

  • Estimated number of trades

Higher trading activity may require additional information, including source of funds.

Net worth should be consistent with your declared source of wealth.

Source of funds must align with your source of wealth.

Tax Residency (TIN):

If you are considered a tax resident in a country (e.g. generally residing for more than 183 days), provide the TIN for that country. Otherwise, provide the TIN of your current country of residence.

Step 6: Investment Experience & Risk Assessment

Please complete the assessment, including:

  • Investment objectives

  • Risk tolerance

  • Experience in stocks and derivatives

Please ensure that all information provided is accurate.

Step 7: Review Agreements & Sign

Before submission, please ensure that you:

✔ Read all declarations

✔ Acknowledge risk disclosures

Signature Requirements:

✔ Use English characters

Not supported:

✘ Non-Latin characters (e.g. Chinese characters)✘ Special characters

Please use the name exactly as shown on your identification document.

Step 8: Submit & Wait for Review

After signing, click “Submit” to complete the application.

The review process typically takes 1–4 business days (excluding weekends and holidays), but may vary depending on individual circumstances.

If additional documents or information are required, you will be notified via the app or email.

Notes:

  • All information provided should be accurate and complete

  • Address proof must be issued within the last 6 months

  • Please monitor notifications for updates

  • You can start trading once your account is approved
