FAQ of Dual Currency Product
Updated over 3 months ago

1. Are the linked price, expiry date, and yield fixed?

Once the subscription is completed, your linked price, expiry date, and yield will be fixed. You will not be able to modify these terms.

2. How is the settlement amount calculated?

Taking BTC Dual Currency as an example, there are two possible scenarios on the expiry date:

Scenario A: If the settlement price is equal to or higher than the linked price: Settlement amount = Investment principal * linked price * (1 + actual yield). The settlement currency will be the paired currency.

Scenario B: If the settlement price is lower than the linked price: Settlement amount = Investment principal * (1 + actual yield). The settlement currency will be the investment currency.

Taking BTC-U Dual Currency as an example, there are two possible scenarios on the expiry date:

Scenario A: If the settlement price is equal to or lower than the linked price: The Settlement amount = Investment principal / linked price * (1 + actual yield).

The settlement currency will be the paired currency.

Scenario B: If the settlement price is higher than the linked price: The Settlement amount = Investment principal

3.When will the principal and returns be settled to my account?

Each product has a specified expiry date. The system will use the average market price in the last 30 minutes before 16:00 (UTC+8) on the expiry date as the settlement price.

Your earnings will be calculated based on the settlement price and the linked price on the expiry date. In normal circumstances, your principal and returns will be settled to your wallet balance within 6 hours and no later than one day.

4. Can I redeem my subscription orders?

After the order is executed, you can redeem it at any time one day before it expires. You will be responsible for the unwind costs associated with the option.

Depending on the trading market price and depth, your redemption profit or loss may be greater than 0, less than 0, or there may be no quote available.

5. What is the time limit for product redemption?

The redemption time limit is T+1, that is, the successful redemption time is 1 day from the nearest 16:00.

If you initiate the redemption before 16:00 today, the redemption settlement will be at 16:00 tomorrow;

if you initiate the redemption at 16:00 tomorrow; If the redemption is initiated after 16:00 today, it will be initiated at 16:00 the day after tomorrow.

6. How can I view my subscription records?

By opening the app - go to “Wallet” - “Portfolio” - “Invest”, you can view your investment records of Dual Currency. Alternatively, by clicking on "Dual Currency V2" on app to access the product page, you can also check your investment records in the "My Orders" section located at the top right of the page.

7. Is a higher yield product always better?

Yield and linked price are two important parameters in Dual Currency products, and they are interrelated.

A higher yield does not necessarily mean the best investment product, as risk and return coexist. Investors should choose based on their preferences.

8. What are the potential risks of dual currency?

Assets will be locked. If you wish to redeem before the maturity date, you may incur certain redemption costs.

If the market price moves further away from the pegged price, you will miss the opportunity to buy or sell at a better price.

Under high-volatility market conditions, it may be difficult to predict the settlement price at expiration, as well as the difference between the settlement price and the linked price at expiration, resulting in implicit losses.

For example: a user invests 1 BTC to purchase a BTC dual-currency product, the linked price is 35,000, the annual interest rate is 300%, and the term is 3 days. When the product expires, if the settlement price is higher than or equal to 35,000, the refund amount = 1*(1+300%*3/365)*35000 = 35,863 USDT (or USDC). If the BTC price rises to 38,000 at this time, the difference between the two prices is an implicit loss, which is 2,137 USDT (or USDC).

9. Where do the returns from Dual Currency products come from?

The assets you deposit are deployed in the derivatives market through advanced strategies and managed by trusted third parties.

10. What is the external API link of Matrixport structured products?
